I love the Huffington Post. I do not read it every day, but when I do, they never cease to amaze me. They are right up there with Slate (favorite commentary Web Site), CNN (favorite news channel), and Newsweek (favorite magazine - just mailed in my subscription today!!). I saw a PSA ad on Huffingtonpost.com that I felt I must share.
I do not believe in abortion, but I believe in a woman's right to chose. I have it said before, and I will say it again, I do not like McCain, but I could care less about him. It is that Sarah Palin I am worried about. When victims have to order their own rape kit in the state of Alaska (don't believe me?), what kind of precedence do you think she will set for the rest of the United States?
Women, Beware. Be aware. Be afraid. Very afraid. If you are not, then check out what this little girl (that's right, LITTLE GIRL) has to say.

I just shed a tear! I've already spoken to this ridiculous-ness of Palin on my blog so I won't go there again...but this PSA is the TRUTH! Thanks for sharing
i also agree a woman should have the right to do whatever she wants with her body. when it comes to abortion, our society has a difficult conversation about morality to face. is it her body? is it a child? we'll figure it out eventually.
now, again, i think a woman should be allowed to choose what happens. ESPECIALLY in this sort of situation.
BUT a woman getting pregnant by rape is SOOOO unlikely a situation that it (seems to me) qualifies as a miracle. and then who are we to condemn the baby because of the father? if you believe in god, there must be a purpose for this life...
but then again, there could be a purpose to extinguishing this life.
sooner or later, we the people are going to need to talk this one out.
r. joseph- I love it when you try to be smart lol. I do believe in God and you're right, maybe God does have a purpose for that baby, BUT it should still be that person's decision. This girl was 16- 16!! If no one else, SHE has a right to decide what happens to her and that baby.
