Pandemonium in Two- Pt. 1

Last night was filled with such pandemonium, I cannot even begin to describe it. My day usually starts with me waking up at about 7AM to get to work at 10. I work my 8 hrs and usually leave the office at about 7PM. Usually, I get home around 8 or 8:30- a full 13 hour day including my commute. Yesterday was different, however. I strayed away from the normal schedule and opted not to go straight home. Instead, I went to the Fairgrounds.

Here's why I'm mad:

My cousin and I left my office in Washington, D.C. at 7PM to get to the Fairgrounds in Manassas Park, VA by 8. What would normally take 45 minutes, took 2 HOURS! But that is something I am quite used to seeing that I sit in traffic approximately 4 hours every day. When my cousin and I get to the Fairgrounds, we have to park a mile and a half away, then WALK to the reach our destination. As we march/run for what seems like forever, we finally reach the actual Fairgrounds. Mark Kaine, Tim Kaine's son, comes to the mic to alert us that there are 80,000 people in attendance! And from my vantage point, he was right.

9:00 was showtime. We stand and we wait and we wait and we wait some more. A woman ahead of us is speculating that the speaker will not show up until about 11PM so the speech can be aired live on the news. I am thinking to myself, self, this cannot be! After sitting in traffic for two hours and getting the workout of my life from my walk/run, I need the speaker to be there NOW! Another speaker comes to the mic and lets the crowd now that the speaker had another engagement in North Carolina and will be here shortly. Now the crowd is restless because the speaker is not even there!

Then we look up and we see...

...Stay tuned for Part Deux!
